Harvard Statistics Consulting Service

Looking for help with a data science project? DSSG office hours might be a good place place to start, but another fantastic resource is the Department of Statistics.

The Department of Statistics now offers free, drop-in consulting on statistical issues arising in research to anyone in the Harvard Community. Ph.D. students, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Lucas Janson, will advise on questions about data analysis and the interpretation of results. Participants are encouraged to seek advice early on in their research but are welcome at all stages. Assistance is available in the following areas and more:

  • Causal Inference
  • Experimental Design
  • Classification and Prediction (Machine Learning)
  • Statistical Issues Arising from 'Big Data' Sets
  • Time Series
  • Model Fitting
  • Data Visualization

Fall 2018 Drop-in Hours:
