Using Web APIs with Python (Fall 2018)

Comfortable with basic Python and want to expand your digital toolkit? Interested in querying and analyzing real-time data or faceted big data? Want to process data using web services or create data mashups? This workshop will help participants integrate RESTful APIs into their data processing workflows. Example workflows may include geocoding locations through GeoNames, analyzing the sentiment of Twitter hashtags using Google Cloud, downloading item metadata from Omeka exhibits or Scalar websites, or querying the Harvard Library and Art Museum collections.

Registration is capped at 12, so sign up early to reserve your place!

The workshop will be held on Thursday, November 8th from 11am - 2pm in the Science Center, room 142.02. The room is in the Academic Technology suite next to the Museum of Historical Scientific Instruments. Lunch will be served.
